Team newsFrance received a huge boost for their heavyweight Rugby World Cup quarter-final clash against South Africa with talismanic captain Antoine Dupont fit enough to be named as the starting scrum half sportsbook
Dupont – who is the face of the home World Cup in France – has been sidelined since suffering a fractured cheekbone in France’s pool stage win over Namibia, with fears that he would be ruled out of the tournament sportsbook
France make no other changes to their starting XV with Maxime Lucu, Dupont’s deputy, dropping to the bench sportsbook
In a minor surprise, Cobus Reinach starts ahead of Faf de Klerk at scrum-half with Manie Libbok keeping hold of the No 10 jersey, despite an expectation that the experience and superior goal-kicking of Handre Pollard might be preferred sportsbook
De Klerk and Pollard are both on the bench in a more conventional 5-3 split of forwards to back, eschewing the controversial 7-1 split from earlier in the tournament sportsbook

Jon Jones has suffered an injury two weeks out from UFC 295, ruling him out of his heavyweight title defence against Stipe Miocic sportsbook
Light-heavyweight great Jones won the heavyweight belt in March, winning his divisional debut by submitting Ciryl Gane in Round 1 sportsbook
His first defence was due to come against Miocic in the main event of UFC 295, at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on 11 November sportsbook
However, 36-year-old Jones will require surgery after sustaining an injury on Tuesday (24 October), meaning his clash with the consensus heavyweight ‘GOAT’ is off sportsbook
As a result, the co-main event of UFC 295 has been elevated to the new main event, as former light-heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka faces ex-middleweight champion Alex Pereira for the vacant 205lbs title sportsbook
In the new co-main event, British heavyweight Tom Aspinall will face Russia’s Sergei Pavlovich for the interim heavyweight title sportsbook
The winner of that fight will theoretically be in line to unify the belts against Jones once the American is healthy, and it is unclear how Miocic will factor into the situation sportsbook
“Jon Jones was training last night, got injured,” said UFC president Dana White on Wednesday morning, sharing footage of the incident sportsbook
“He was wrestling, and he tore the tendon that connects your pec to the bone sportsbook

“Eight months [out], gonna need surgery, he’s out sportsbook
So, the main event is Prochazka vs Pereira sportsbook
The co-main event now is Pavlovich vs Aspinall for the interim heavyweight championship sportsbook
”American Miocic, 41, has not fought since losing the heavyweight title to Francis Ngannou in March 2021 sportsbook
